Paragon music practitioners had a wonderful time on our first international trip, running music workshops with ADAPT in Mumbai.
Formerly The Spastics Society of India, ADAPT was founded by Dr. Mithu Alur in 1972. Over three decades, from a school with three children, it has grown to become one of the foremost non – profit organisations in the country, providing services for more than 3000 children and 10,000 families. Dr. Mithu Alur and her team promote the ethos that both Able and Disabled can work together to create an inclusive society.
Paragon musicians facilitated workshops with young people at the ADAPT centres in Bandra and Colaba and with adults at ADAPT’s Skills and Development Centre in Chembur.
While in Mumbai, Paragon musicians also performed with ambassador for ADAPT and renowned violinist and singer Sunita Khaund Bhuyan at the Blue FROG to raise money for The Jai Vakeel School.
